Palm Springs Tramway to San Jacinto Mountain

This month's hike will be on the 9th, 16th or the 23rd. We will meet at the church at 8:45am.This is a hike for intermediate or advanced hikers. You may return to church by 5pm-12am. We will be carpooling or you may meet us out there at the tram between 10:45 and 11am. Please email me if you are meeting us: rockharborhikes@yahoo.com.The drive each way is about one and half hours. Directions: 91-60-10-111. We will be taking the Tram up into the San Jacinto Mountains to about 8500 FT. We are planning on hiking half way or all the way up to the top of the mountain. The halfway roundtrip is 6-7 miles and the climb to the top roundtrip is 12-13 miles in total).The cost is about $20 per person, plus $5-10 for gas money if you are not driving. There are a couple of restaurants at the top of the tramway. One costs $12 per person and the other double that. I suggest you bring several bottles of water and plenty of food!
