July Hike - This hike is cancelled due to the chance of Thunderstorms!

We will be heading out to hike along the East Fork of the San Gabriel River on Saturday, July 12th. We will be meeting at the church at 8:45AM and should be returning around
4-6pm. This is a hike for intermediate to advanced hikers. We will carpool. Please bring
$5-$10 to give to the driver if you do not drive yourself.

The trail meanders along the river and we'll likely just hike in about 2.5 miles or so while stopping every mile or so to cool off in the stream There is little elevation gain and thus for the most part is a 'walk' along the stream versus an uphill hike. Due to the hot weather (95-100), it is not likely we will make it all the way to the Bridge to Nowhere (10 mile round-trip).

It will be warm: 95-100 degrees. The stream is great to swim in (68-69 degrees). Bringing goggles or a snorkel is fun! You may want to bring sandels to walk in the stream when we stop along the way and walking or hiking shoes for the journey. You'll need to wear shoes you don't mind getting wet and dirty (throw 'em in the washer and they'll be fine!). You'll need a minimum of 2-3 litres of water and snacks or lunch. We'll carpool.
